SINGAPORE, 25 January 2023 – For the third year running, Lexus is announcing its return as the official automotive partner of the HSBC Women’s World Championship 2023. As one of the most celebrated golf events in Asia, the tournament attracts top players and golf-enthusiasts globally. The HSBC Women’s World Championship 2023 will take place again at Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore from 2 to 5 March 2023 and will welcome back fans for the first time since 2019.
This year marks the 15th edition of the HSBC Women’s World Championship. The 2022 edition saw the popular South Korean, Jin Young Ko – world No.5 and two-time major winner – as the overall champion, winning by a two-shot margin over Minjee Lee and In Gee Chun after a thrilling final tournament day.
The 72-hole stroke play tournament will once again be played on the renowned Tanjong Course at Sentosa, with the golf club hosting its tenth edition of the tournament. Sentosa Golf Club is a leading light in driving sustainability initiatives in golf around the world and has been named as ‘World’s Best Eco-Friendly Golf Facility’ at the 2022 World Golf Awards for the third consecutive year. With the aim of being carbon neutral, the club has been utilizing carbon mitigation measures including achieving Singapore’s Green Mark (Platinum) certification through enhancing the energy efficiency of its clubhouse, the first in the region to introduce lithium battery golf carts and increasing the efficiency of its irrigation system by deploying some 1,200 water saving sprinklers across the golf courses.
Lexus has been a long-standing supporter of the game of golf and with its commitment to electrification as well as Omotenashi (unique Japanese hospitality), it aims to further elevate the tournament experience for guests.
As one of the sustainability goals, Lexus is building on the legacy of its first luxury hybrid in 2006 and has amplified its electrification strategy by leading the industry’s response to sustainable mobility and empowering more Lexus users to make the transition to electrified cars.
