THE DRIVER AND VEHICLE BECOME ONE
The Lexus Driving Signature initiative embodies our philosophy that a vehicle is an extension of the driver’s intent. By moving to an all-EV platform, the LF-Z Electrified Concept becomes the purest interpretation of this philosophy. Direct4 and steer-by-wire revolutionize how you drive, and this synergy is completed with intuitively placed controls in our reimagined Tazuna cockpit.
DIRECT4 TECHNOLOGY
Proprietary motors at each axle transform the way you connect with the road. With two motors, power can dynamically switch between front, rear, and all-wheel drive for unparalleled stability while accelerating and cornering.
STEER-BY-WIRE
With steer-by-wire, you will be able to maneuver the vehicle with less steering angle – and more precision. This results in a heightened connection to the vehicle and a more exhilarating driving experience.
TAZUNA COCKPIT
Tazuna, the Japanese term for using reins to control a horse, is the inspiration for our cockpit. Every element in the cabin is carefully considered for position and function to best serve you – the driver of the future.

A VISION OF TOMORROW
The LF-Z Electrified Concept has a striking silhouette that shows it was crafted to allure not just with its technology, but with its modern, futuristic design. Inside the vehicle, the spacious cabin was completely reconceptualized into an idyllic haven with LED ambient lighting that adjusts to set any mood.
LEXUS DESIGN EVOLVED
Our takumi masters adapted the Lexus design icon of the spindle shape into the overall architecture of the LF-Z Electrified Concept. The result is a three-dimensional design that transforms the shape of the vehicle’s body into the icon of the Lexus brand.
REIMAGINED INTERIOR
By replacing conventional technologies with our advanced innovations, we’ve freed up a significant amount of space. This allowed us to reimagine the interior, creating an open and minimalist design that was never possible before.
AMBIENT LIGHTING
Using the latest research in light therapy, embedded LEDs throughout the cabin can set any number of moods to create the perfect ambiance.
REDESIGNED STEERING WHEEL
The need to physically move the steering wheel to complete a turn is significantly reduced due to the speed-sensitive steer-by-wire system. To complement this change, we crafted a new, evolved steering wheel.

BLACK BUTTERFLY MULTIMEDIA SCREENS
The Tazuna cockpit is anchored by an all-new multi-screen interface that evokes the shape and color of a black butterfly. The streamlined interface can be operated by both touch and voice for your convenience.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Using deep learning and proprietary algorithms, our AI acts as your virtual assistant during your journey. Learning your habits and routines over time, the AI can suggest better routes and even help control your smart home.
LEXUS TEAMMATE
Powered by our own next-generation autonomous driving technology, Lexus Teammate is your partner on the road. Using a host of cutting-edge sensors, AI, and built-in systems such as steer-by-wire, Lexus Teammate grants you peace of mind.
ELECTROCHROMIC ROOF
A panoramic roof made of light-controlling glass invites the outside in. With a touch of a button, the transparent roof can become opaque.
DIGITAL KEY
Vehicle access and convenience has been reimagined for the 21st century. With Digital Key, you can unlock the LF-Z Electrified Concept with just your smartphone. Sharing the vehicle is easy too, with a feature to grant your family and friends temporary access.
E-LATCH
E-Latch is an innovative take on the conventional handle with doors that unlatch with a push of a button. E-Latch also incorporates sensors that scan the environment for oncoming traffic to ensure that doors only open under safe conditions.
MARK LEVINSON SOUND
An all-new Mark Levinson sound system delivers directional sound to each occupant. The system also has pre-designed soundscapes of quiet Zen gardens and soothing streams that add to the tranquility in the cabin.
LEXUS ✕ HYPEBEAST
In collaboration with HYPEBEAST, we have brought together three of pop culture’s leading designers to reimagine the interior of the LF-Z Electrified Concept. Their new approach to design synergizes fashion, art, lifestyle, and technology – epitomizing our forward-thinking vision for electrification.
SALEHE BEMBURY
Salehe is a young star in the design community, having worked on brands like YEEZY and Versace. He is known for pushing the boundaries of what footwear can be with material selection, silhouette, and storytelling. Salehe intends to continue going against the grain with his vision for the LF-Z Electrified Concept’s interior by playing with textures and bold colors.
HENDER SCHEME
Hender is known for his beautiful, meticulously constructed leather goods. His vision is to have hand-stitched, vegetable-tanned leather throughout the interior of the LF-Z Electrified Concept. The leather will start out with a light color and patina over time to a deeper brown shade. The result will be a one-of-a-kind, crafted design that blends fashion and art.
ONDREJ ZUNKA
Ondrej is a digital artist who creates fantastical virtual realities using CAD design. He works on digital projects for top brands like Nike and Prada and participates in the NFT crypto art community. Ondrej reconceptualized the interior of the LF-Z Electrified Concept to include future-facing materials and design elements that play on the human-machine interaction.
